LARUS final demonstration

The final demonstration of the LARUS research project took place in October 2019. Over the Baltic Sea, the automatic fixed-wing aircraft developed in the project had to prove itself in the search for a missing person. During the runtime of the project, the aircraft designed for sea rescue has already covered about 660 nautical miles (approx. 1220 km) safely over sea. A demonstrative overview of the research project as well as the course of the final presentation is now available as a video clip.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research has funded the project within the framework of the research programme for civil security.
