REALISE
Runway independent automatic launch and landing system
The project REALISE aims to develop a mobile, runway independant launch and landing system for unmanned aerial systems. This enables the automatic take-off and landing of UAS without landing gear.
Design and Function
The construction consists of a rail system with moveable sledge in longitudinal and lateral directions. Moreover, the landing skid on the sledge is pivoted which enables landings even during strong crosswinds. High-precision sensor technology and a complex control system ensure a fully-automated launch and landing process.
